After a whirlwind weekend at Sun1 Southgate, I have to say it was a mixed bag. The location is pretty convenient, just a quick drive to Gold Reef City and surrounded by some beautiful natural spots-perfect for a little exploration after meetings. I loved the bottomless coffee available in the public area; it's always a win for those of us who need a caffeine fix. And let's not forget the secure parking, which kept everything stress-free. As for the amenities, the rooms were basic but comfy enough for a short stay. I appreciated the free property-wide WiFi, which made it easy for me to check in with my marine conservation team back in Auckland. It's a budget-friendly spot that has potential, especially if you're looking for practicality over luxury. Just be prepared to keep your expectations in check-it's more of a laid-back motel vibe than a fancy hotel experience.
